Colour Research
In my recent work, I’ve been exploring how to move beyond the typical muted tones of natural dyes—experimenting with ways to achieve vibrant, saturated colours using plant-based sources.

My colour palette is inspired by springtime light—to me, a symbol of emotional transformation. It’s a mood that’s bright but gentle, layered yet uplifting, and I wanted my dyes to reflect that feeling.

Through hands-on experimentation, I’ve been learning more about the chemistry, unpredictability, and beauty of natural colour. It’s a process full of surprises—and one that continues to shift how I think about materials, emotion, and design.

Next Step? — From Experimentation to Scalable Colour Systems

The next step is to translate these vibrant plant-based dye experiments into scalable colour systems for textile and surface applications.

With further colour standardisation and process optimisation, the palette could be applied to fashion textiles, interior fabrics, soft furnishings, or lifestyle products, using controlled natural dyeing and bio-based pigment techniques.

This positions natural colour not as a muted alternative, but as a viable, expressive solution for sustainable production, bridging craft-led experimentation with industry-ready application.
